Foundation for Roanoke Valley has awarded $24,165 to non-profit organizations through its Larry Woodrow Vest Fund. The Fund supports a wide range of community needs and focuses on charitable organizations providing services to Floyd County residents.
Floyd Community Center for the Arts was awarded $4,000 to replace its Community Room chairs. Girl Scouts of Virginia Skyline Council was awarded $2,915 to provide underserved girls in Floyd County the opportunity to take part in its outreach program. Mountain View Humane was awarded $3,000 to supports its PALS (Prevent Another Litter Subsidy) program. Sustain Floyd Foundation was awarded $14,000 to support its EBT/SNAP incentive program at the Floyd County Farmers Market. Voice of the Blue Ridge was awarded $250 to support visually-impaired Floyd County residents in need of its services.
Foundation for Roanoke Valley, the region’s community foundation, currently administers over 260 named endowment funds on behalf of the community and works diligently to help local individuals and families establish permanent charitable legacies that will touch the community now and for generations to come.
